Elf Portrait
This little weird Elf was guarding our house for about 10 years and now he's gone to Spain to live (with my husband's daughter). I hope he will be as happy house guard over there too.
Meanwhile I thought to paint his portrait using some sketches I made earlier.

Whatcom artist studio tour 2018
For two weekends in October - 6,7th and 13 and 14th there is a Whatcom artist studio tour going on in the town of Bellingham and area around.
My husband and I visited a few artists on first weekend of the tour.
On Saturday, October 6 in our itinerary was Richard Bulman, really versatile artist working in variety of mediums including painting in oil and acrylic, drawing, making really original jewelry and hand engraved and painted stone. Reluctantly I have to limit myself showing only a couple of his artwork, but you can see more on his website Bulman Fine Art, his house and Whatcom Art Market

Oil painting - Masks of Chaas
Next we visited Terry Brooks - artist, friend and a teacher who paints Bellingham in a somewhat funny way.
This will happen in a year 2100 after global warming will melt ice and flood streets of Bellingham. :)

Eagle Beach, Alaska
Gorgeous colorful sunset north from Juneau, Alaska on Eagle beach. Artwork size 12x12 inches, painted in acrylic on gallery wrap stretched canvas. Coated with UV protective varnish. I painted sides so you can hang it without frame.

Abstract painting Life As It Is
When I was growing up in Soviet Union there was no abstract art. There was only socialist realism. Well, there was abstract in museums but it was a "capitalism" art and we as "communists" were not suppose to do that.
So now I decided to dive deep in the art of abstracts and try to do a small abstract painting a day (or close to it). Small is not as scary as big, so I might handle it. Will see.
This one not the very first, occasionally I did some abstracts in my self-learning process, but it always felt like I don't know what I am doing. I still don't really know what I am doing, but I have ideas of color combinations, compositions and just go with intuition.
This particular work was inspired by Russian-German artist Wassily Kandinsky, his bold bright colors.

Recently I stopped at friend-artist's house, and saw very interesting made of dark brown wood African mask on a wall. I didn't copy it but instead painted impression of it at home by memory.
